GFA Bans Offinso Base PAC Academy and Port City FC from Their Home Venues Indefinitely

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken decisive action by banning Division One League clubs PAC Academy  Port City Football Club  from using their respective home venues indefinitely, effective immediately.

The move follows violent incidents that were reported during two Division One League matches over the past weekend — namely PAC Academy versus FC Ashgold 04 and Port City FC against True Democracy. After reviewing preliminary reports on these disturbances, the GFA Executive Council invoked its powers under Article 14 of the Division One League Regulations, which allow the Association to close any venue where the safety of teams, officials, and spectators cannot be guaranteed.

Under this ban, PAC Academy nor Port City FC will be permitted to play at their officially approved home grounds until further notice. The GFA Competitions Department will now select alternative venues for both teams’ upcoming “home” matches, taking into account logistical issues such as travel distance for visiting sides.

In announcing the sanction, the GFA stressed that it is working with the *Ghana Police Service and other relevant stakeholders to gather all facts surrounding the incidents and to ensure a thorough and accurate investigation is conducted.

The Association also unequivocally condemned all forms of violence in Ghanaian football, urging club officials, owners, supporters, and all stakeholders to uphold fair play and sportsmanship, which remain core principles of the game. It appealed for calm among the football community as investigations continue, promising that appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the regulations once the facts are established.
